Maternity Portrait Sessions
There is not much on this Earth as beautiful as an expecting mother. A maternity session is designed to document and celebrate the new life growing inside. Whether this is your first pregnancy or last, this is the only time you will be pregnant with THIS child. Your baby bump is the beginning of your little one's story. One day, they will love to hear the stories about when they were in Mommy's belly, and you will love telling them how much you loved them, even before you actually met them.
Courtney Morgan Photography offers outdoor maternity sessions in Dallas and surrounding areas, as well as studio sessions. Every maternity session includes a complimentary consultation to decide which option works best for what you envision. You will also have access to our designer gown collection to select a dress that helps bring your vision to life. We also have an award winning hair and makeup artist that will bring out your beauty. Your session day is day for you to be pampered and our goal is to make it as stress free as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my maternity session?
Most clients book in their first or second trimeter. Booking early guarantees availability as my calendar fills up quickly (especially the weekends). However, we fit in last minute clients often, and try to save a little flexibility in our calendar to accommodate for this.
Where do we shoot maternity sessions?
I use a numerous locations in the North Texas area. During our design consultation, we will sit down together and discuss what location(s) would best fit your needs and vision.
What is the best time of day for sessions?
For outdoor sessions it is best to shoot during what is considered "The Golden Hour." This is the hour to hour and a half after sunrise or before sunset. Once we decide on location, I can tell you the best time for your session. Studio sessions are more flexible and can be scheduled at any time of the day.
At what point in my pregnancy is it best to schedule my maternity session?
I recommend scheduling between weeks 30-35. If you are carrying multiples, you will most likely want to schedule closer to the 30 week window.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
Most of my clients borrow one of the designer gowns in our client closet. We will schedule a design consultation to discuss all the details of your session and pick out and try on dresses. You can also pair one of our gowns with a more casual look from home.
Can my children and spouse be a part of my session?
Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. This is a special time for your entire family and they should be included as well. That includes furry family members as well.
Do you offer combined packages for maternity and newborn sessions?
Yes! This is the best way to get the most from your investment. During our consultation, I can help you decide on a collection that will get you the most value as well as beautiful artwork for your home.
